Overjustification: The reason bad critics are wrong!

There is a rising debate in today's society that reflects upon the use of Overjustification. Overjustification - When external reinforcement reduces internal motivation when rewards are provided regardless of quality of performance. Example: 13 kids compete at a track meet in the 100 meter dash; First, second, and third place completely dominated the race, yet all 13 kids (including last place) receive the same reward (a blue ribbon). This is typically called the Overjustification Effect. The kids who all got beat in the race will need some form of motivation to keep their confidence up. After all, the just got their feelings hurt by losing so bad.
Overjustification has many critics, some good and some bad. The bad critics believe that Overjustification creates a false sense of success in a child. Which in hand could have terrible effects on a child as they get older and life becomes less forgiving. However, the good critics believe the complete opposite. They believe that as a child is growing up, he or she should experience what it feels like to have success. In turn, this will make them strive harder later in life to satisfy that feeling of success inside them.
Overjustification cannot be considered “bad” by any means. If children grow up losing at everything they have ever tried to do, there confidence level will most likely be little to none. A child must confront failure, as well as success to have to have an optimum amount of work ethic.
Systematically, there is absolutely nothing wrong with Ovejustification. There is a reason why this form of motivation is in society today. There are proven results that show children strive for success in an overjustification system. Overjustification is something new to society; it will just take a while for the bad critics to realize how good Overjustification really is.

Don't ask Don't tell

In the fall of 1993 President Clinton enacted a bill as Don' ask Don't tell Don't pursue. This bill was a law enacted to suppress homosexual soldiers in the American Armed forces. This law forced gays to hide their sexuality in order for them to remain in the military. In a country where freedom is supposed to be its prized possesion, its own protectors are forced to live a lie.
What makes a homosexual soldier any better than a heterosexual one? The answer is nothing each one fights for his or her country. Each soldier knowingly puts their life in danger and bleeds and sweats just like the other. So why make someone who's just as important to our county's defense live a lie, especially in a time where tolerance and acceptance of people's differences are so much more common than recent years.
President Obama realized that tolerance should exist in both civilian and military life. On December 22, 2010 Don't ask Don't tell was ended. This finally allowed correct justice to be served, and no longer forced good soldiers man and woman alike to live a lie.

Illuminati is out there...

The talks about Illuminati are growing more and more everyday. Dozens of Youtube videos are being uploaded hourly. In order to have a name rappers/singers/entertainers sell their soul to the devil in exchange for success in the entertainment world. Jay-Z is the most talked about. He has a lot of hidden messages in his many of his songs. The truth is out there if you take you time to look for it, and most of the time it's right in front of you. In his song "Empire State of Mind" he says this; "Jesus can't save you. Life starts when the church ends." Head scratching isn't it? Now watch this.
Pretty damn scary if you ask me. But Jay-Z is only the main one. Stars all over the media are linked to the Illuminati. It's said that the New World Order is coming close. Michael Jackson was killed by the Illuminati because he was revealing things they didn't want him too. Days before his death, while rehearsing for his tour he told everyone there something disturbing. He says ," Lets take care of the planet. We have four years to get it right or else it's irreversible then...we're done." 4 years Mike? What happens in four years that'll be irreversible? 2012? The year the world is suppose to end. Not convinced? Well listen to Michael's sister La Toya.
I'll leave with this question. Who are they?

For Legalization of Steroids

For Legalization of Steroids

America prides itself in being one of the greatest countries in the world, with the building blocks of that greatness resting on the idea of freedom. There are many different definitions of freedom at all ends of the political spectrum, however, which one is correct?

Is freedom unlimited, you can do whatever you want? Maybe if it doesn’t affect anyone but you? Or should there be limitations to freedom? Should I be allowed to do anything I desire to my body, MY body?

Steroids are a problem in today’s society, but who’s problem is it if I take steroids? Is it my own or is it the government? If I desire to do these drugs, it is my choice, I have my freedom, end of story. If I want to mess my body up, then, by the freedom of the United States government, I will do it.

(Disclaimer: These are not my political nor social views on the subject, just a class assignment)

Gun Control

Everyday in America people are killed; the murder is not biased to men, women, or children nor do they care whether you are black or white or any other race. Guns do not care who you are, they will simply take your life. America has some laws that prevent certain people from owning various firearm; such as minors and criminals. But is that really enough? Why should people's life be put in jeopardy by some untrained gunman who owns a powerful handgun for "self-defense." The United States needs to do more to protect it's citizens!
Guns are terrifying weapons that have been around for nearly a thousand years. Today in America, guns are as common as automobiles. Anybody can go out to a gun store and buy a pistol for self-defense. There is nothing stopping a criminal from going to the same store and buying the same gun to go do what criminals do, commit crimes! There have to be fail safes that stop criminals from being able to purchase any type of weapons. These fail safes are gun control laws. With gun control laws the United States can outlaw the purchase of guns by anyone other than law enforcement officers. With only law enforcement officers having possession of guns the murder rate will go down because less people will have access to the guns, therefore crime will go down.

Texting While Driving

Are you to text and drive? You may feel like you're the best driver and can multi-task while driving. In some cases, some people may really be like that, but that doesn't prove that texting and driving is okay. It's still dangerous. But who's going to tell you it's not okay to text and drive? The government?
Yes, it is dangerous to text and drive, but why should it be the government's business to what you decide to do? There might be an emergency and you need to text someone because they're either at work or in class and can't answer the phone. Another situation can be that you are traveling a long way and you start to doze off, but the only way to prevent this is to text someone or to check Facebook or Twitter. Cell phones are so advanced now that on some smart phones, a GPS app is available or if you don't want to pay for an application, you can easily connect to the internet and pull up google maps or mapquest. I, personally, am guilty to being one of these people. I pull over to type in an address, which is safe, but glancing down every minute to check if I'm on the right path is not.
To me, it shouldn't really concern the government what you decide to do on the road, whether its texting and driving, or if you're a woman, putting on makeup. If an accident occurs, then hopefully one learns from that mistake. In some cases, it might be an emergency and someone needs to send a quick text. It's the person's choice and the government shouldn't butt in.
