Don't ask Don't tell

In the fall of 1993 President Clinton enacted a bill as Don' ask Don't tell Don't pursue. This bill was a law enacted to suppress homosexual soldiers in the American Armed forces. This law forced gays to hide their sexuality in order for them to remain in the military. In a country where freedom is supposed to be its prized possesion, its own protectors are forced to live a lie.
What makes a homosexual soldier any better than a heterosexual one? The answer is nothing each one fights for his or her country. Each soldier knowingly puts their life in danger and bleeds and sweats just like the other. So why make someone who's just as important to our county's defense live a lie, especially in a time where tolerance and acceptance of people's differences are so much more common than recent years.
President Obama realized that tolerance should exist in both civilian and military life. On December 22, 2010 Don't ask Don't tell was ended. This finally allowed correct justice to be served, and no longer forced good soldiers man and woman alike to live a lie.
